Kratom is legal to buy and possess in Kentucky for adults 21 and older. State law regulates kratom processors and retailers, restricts sales to people under 21, caps 7-hydroxymitragynine at two percent of the alkaloid fraction, and sets labeling requirements. In late 2025 state officials began a process to schedule highly concentrated 7-hydroxymitragynine, which was not final as of early 2026.
